gauche-zlib software package provides zlib binding for Gauche, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gauche-zlib
gauche-zlib is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gauche-zlib package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gauche-zlib *
You will get with gauche-zlib package name, version, architecture and description in a table
